Our Founding to Our Future 2023

Girls on the Run-Chicago's Finish Line Council is a passionate community of women leaders who have supported Girls on the Run-Chicago from our founding in 1999 to today. From the beginning, they have been deeply involved with our mission and work of supporting the social-emotional and physical health of girls through life skills lessons that creatively integrate running and physical activity. These lessons help girls navigate adolescence to become tomorrow’s leaders.

24 years ago, we started with 6 volunteers serving 83 girls across 2 teams, and today thousands of coaches have served a total of more than 100,000 girls! Here's a look at how far we've come! 

To honor how far we’ve come, Finish Line Council members will raise $24,000 between now and August 31, which will provide 68 program scholarships for girls living in low-income situations this fall season.
