23 years ago during the first week of August, Girls on the Run-Chicago was founded. We were a small, but mighty, group made up of 6 coaches at 2 sites, and we served 83 girls that year. 

From our founding in 1999, we have now served more than 95,000 girls and will serve thousands more this coming school year! 

At Girls on the Run-Chicago, we know we wouldn’t be anywhere without our community, and we’re lucky to have the leaders who have gotten us to this point still at our side. We call them our Finish Line Council, and they are still showing up for us and our girls. 

To honor our founding and provide support for our future, our Finish Line Council members have generously seeded an $11,500 matching gift fund, and for the next 31 days they’ll match every gift we raise (up to $11,500)! 

Together, we can generate $23,000, which will provide 77 program scholarships for girls living in low-income situations this fall season.
